ASLIA (WA)

Australian Sign Language Interpreters Association (ASLIA) is a professional body representing the needs and interests of Auslan (Australian Sign Language) Interpreters in Australia. The association is comprised of a National Executive with branches in most states and territories of Australia. ASLIA(WA) is the Western Australian state branch of ASLIA.

The Association provides a platform for the views of Auslan Interpreters throughout the nation on issues such as training, recruitment, working conditions, salaries, and the provision of services within the Auslan interpreting industry. We work closely with other peak associations in our field, specifically the Australian Association of the Deaf (AAD) and the Australian Federation of Deaf Societies (AFDS).

To contribute to and foster a collaborative environment whereby interpreters can be invigorated and inspired to work towards contemporary standards and excellence in Auslan interpreting.
